Last year, I came across a patient who walked in complaint of “blurred and distorted vision”. After history & symptoms taking, she went through our Advanced Eye Examination with a series of test. Her problem doesn’t resolve by changing a new pair of glasses because there was a swell at her macular. She was then referred to an ophthalmologist for treatment and management.

Recently, she returned for a new pair of glasses. Her macular edema (swell) resolved and her vision now back to normal. She felt thankful for the early detection and referral.

Macular is responsible for our central vision and fine details. Macular edema usually affect one eye, hence the symptoms of macular edema might not be noticeable if the unaffected eye is not covered.

Blur vision is not always due to changes of eye power, it could be any undetected eye disease.

A routine comprehensive eye examination is the key!!! It doesn’t take long and no pain throughout the whole process.
