by Eye Examination regularly
How often should I go for an eye exam?
Adults and Seniors
American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends that age 17-39 adults should have their eyes checked at least once every 2 years. For those above 40 years old, eye exam should be repeated at least every 1 year.
For anyone with risk factors
Risk factors include history of eye disease, family history of eye diseases, health issues (diabetes, hypertension), occupational demand (police, army), contact lens wearer, high refractive error, history of eye surgery (LASIK, cataract removal), on medication and so on. It is recommended that these groups of people have their eye exam once a year or as instructed by their optometrist.
